Guangda Yang is a baritone known for his expertise in Lieder, mélodies, and lyric baritone roles in opera. He has a remarkable ability to convey the essential truths of the music he performs, consistently moving audiences on a profound level. In 2024 he graced the prestigious Shanghai Concert Hall with two performances of Winterreise and Berlioz's Les nuits d'été, and made history as the only Chinese singer to present Schubert's three monumental song cycles—Die schöne Müllerin, Winterreise, and Schwanengesang—within a single week at the Peking University Centennial Hall. His performances of Winterreise and Die schöne Magelone in Chengdu garnered outstanding reviews, with Die schöne Magelone being hailed as "the" vocal concert of 2025 and listed among the top ten classical concerts in Chengdu.

On August 17, 2026, Guangda will make his European debut at the Salzburg Wiener Saal during the Salzburger Festspiele, performing Brahms's Die schöne Magelone alongside pianist Javier Arrebola and actress Corinna Jarosch. He aims to unveil not only the musical beauty but also the psychological depth of the composer's intentions, enabling the audience to fully appreciate the work's richness.

In addition to his Lieder repertoire, Guangda is passionate about opera. He participated in the Savonlinna Music Academy's Mozart opera scheme, "Amore in Confusione," in Savonlinna and Mikkeli, Finland, where his "soft yet clear tone in a big hall" received acclaim from critics.

Before embarking on a singing career, Guangda studied Psychology, Educational Policy (philosophical studies) at Columbia University, later pursuing vocal studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.
